Four national Men Beach Volleyball teams will be participating in Zone 2 of the Confederation of African Volleyball continental cup in Banjul to determine the top three qualifiers to the second round of the 2020 CAVB Continental Cup.
The competition starts on Friday at Palma Rima Beach in Kololi.
Gambia will line up against Mali, Sierra Leone and Guinea in the Zone 2 qualifiers. The competition starts with Gambia meeting Mali in a best of 3 encounters between two teams of each country. Gambia’s team one will face Mali’s team two and Gambia’s team two will play Mali’s team one. However, if both teams are tied on points after two encounters, a golden set will settle the situation between a team determined by the delegation of each country.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone will also meet Guinea in the second encounter on Friday. The second leg features two face offs as Mali plays Guinea, while Gambia is set to battle it out against Sierra Leone. The third leg shows Sierra Leone against Mali, while Gambia wraps up the qualifiers against Guinea.
Dubbed the “Continental Cup”, the event is a culmination of a series of competitions held in each continent that provides an opportunity for all federations to compete at the highest level in an open system to book a ticket to the Olympic Games.

The Gambia has invited Qatar-based Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra to join home based stars Amadou Jarju and Jahara Koita for yet another national duty.
