Two Students Feared Dead as Navy Boat Capsizes off Janjangbureh

Credible military sources report that two students attending the Yundum Barracks Upper Basic School have drowned and feared dead this Saturday as a boat carrying them on an excursion capsized off Janjanbureh. The boat that capsized belongs to The Gambia Military Navy.

Our sources explained that the students were on Excursion in Janjanbureh to see the slave relics on the island. For reasons that yet to be clearly defined, the boat carrying the students from the Laminkoto Navy base to Janjanbureh sank off the river.

Though well-wishers and volunteers managed to rescue many students, it came to the crew’s attention that two amongst the schoolboys went missing and were believed to have drowned. The reported missing students are Sanna Kijera and Musa B Sesay.

Search and Rescue operations are on course to retrieve the remains of the missing students.
