Three Gambian Ministers Infected with Coronavirus
Three Gambian Ministers namely Mambury Njie of Finance and Economics Affairs, Fafa Sanyang of Petroleum and Energy and Amie Fabureh of Agriculture have been confirmed infected with Coronavirus.
This confirmation is contained in a statement published on the State House of The Gambia Facebook page on Sunday.
“The public is reminded that ‘Regulation No. 6’ of the Public Health (Dangerous Infectious Diseases) Protection Regulations, 2020 is in force, thus the compulsory wearing of face masks, temporary closure of non-essential public places and the prohibition of public and social gatherings. Stay Safe, COVID 19 is real.”
Prior to this confirmation, the mayor of Banjul Rohey Malick Lowe voiced her frustration over the lack of implementation of the said regulations calling the minister of health to lockdown the city.
