Fellow Gambians, on the occasion of the annual observance of 8th March as the International Women’s Day, we wish to congratulate our mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters for the important role that they play in their respective families and within the Gambian society at large, notably as champions of social cohesion, as well as their immense contribution to national development.
This year’s celebration comes against the backdrop of the global COVID-19 pandemic. As at 27th-28th February, 2021, The Gambia registered 4,735 confirmed cases, and 151 deaths.
