President Adama Barrow has dissolved the Board of Directors of Gamtel/Gamcel.
The Chronicle has gathered that the board members were served with their termination letters Monday morning.
Sources said the board has been at a loggerhead with the presidency in recent months over the president’s alleged efforts to have one of his supporters based in the U.S appointed as deputy head of Gamtel. According to different sources, the board rejected the plan, resulting to the president’s decision to dissolve it.
Amie Bojang, the Director of Press and Public Relations at State House has confirmed to The Chronicle that the Gamtel/Gamcel Board has been dissolved. But she did not give any further details.
