Pres. Barrow, Macky, Embalo Inaugurate OMVG Electricity Infrastructure in Gambia
President Adama Barrow has this Saturday received Presidents Macky Sall of Senegal and Umaro Sissoco Embalò of Guinea Bissau at the Banjul International Airport for the inauguration of the OMVG energy project infrastructure in the country.
From the Yundum Airport, the Presidential convoy drove en route to the event venue in Soma.
The three heads of State will proceed to the inauguration of the OMVG Energy Projects in The Gambia and the commissioning of the Soma Substation.
The OMVG electricity interconnection project will cover a total of 183 kilometers of high voltage in The Gambia with two substations installed in Soma and Brikama. “This setup will be able to cover a good part of the electricity needs of The Gambia,” the OMVG High Commissioner, Elhadj Lansana Fofana, told President Adama Barrow in June in Conakry.
