Official – Ousainou Darboe is UDP’s Presidential Candidate for Dec. 4th Election
This Wednesday, UDP announced that former Vice-President and UDP Secretary-general Ousainou Darboe is the party’s official presidential candidate to challenge incumbent Adama Barrow and other contenders in the December elections.
Initially, the Selection Committee of the UDP Central Committee shortlisted four candidates for the flag bearer position. All the candidates sent applications as the party’s flag bearer and presidential candidate for the 2021 presidential election.
The applicants include Abdou Darboe from Foni, also current Deputy Regional Chairman of UDP who works at MRC. The other internal UDP candidates are Ousainu Darboe, former Vice-President, lawyer, and current UDP Secretary-General, Ousainou Mboob, the KMC UDP Regional Administrative Secretary, and Lamin J. Darboe, a UDP militant from Gunjur.
The Selection Committee of the UDP Central Committee then proceeded with an election that ended with Ousainu Darboe being the winner and official UDP candidate to defeat Adama Barrow and the other contenders of the December 4th, 2021 Presidential election.
