New- York: UN Security Council is “Last Holdouts of Reform”, VP Isatou Touray

Delivering a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, the Vice-President of The Gambia, Isatou Touray, has on Thursday reiterated what many African nations have long called another deficit in the UN governance inclusion. The Gambian Vice-President called the UN  Security Council “one of the last holdouts of reform.”

“Africa’s quest for greater representation on the Security Council is legitimate, just and overdue,” she told delegates Friday. Meanwhile, Africa has no permanent representative on the council.
