The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced that the Revising Courts would begin sittings in each of the 7 administrative areas on 6th September 2021.
Each Revising Court is responsible for hearing cases of omissions, objections, and appeals relating to the 2021 general registration of Voters. The court’s sittings would last for about a month.
Voters who wish to make appeals or objections shall obtain the prescribed forms at a fee of D59 and D100 respectively at all IEC regional Offices in each administrative area during working hours from 16th to 29th August 2021.
The IEC will also publish the provisional list of Voters generated for this year’s elections on 16th August 2021.
The provisional lists would also be pasted for viewing by the public at venues used during the voter registration exercise. However, the Commission urges all voters to confirm their names on the provisional lists of voters before Election Day.
Exactly 112 days to go before the 2021 elections, and a total of over 800,000 people have been registered for this year’s election.
So far, there are 18 registered political parties and 3 independent candidates.
