Three years ago, Anderlecht paid FC Midtjylland over 8 million Euros for Gambian centre-back defender Bubacarr Sanneh. It has proved to be a historically poor investment for the big club from Brussels, and now Anderlecht has once and for all abandoned the mid-stop from The Gambia.
On the club’s website, Anderlecht states this week that an agreement has been reached with 26-year-old Bubacarr Sanneh to terminate the contract – two years before the agreement expires.
Bubacarr Sanneh was last season loaned out to AGF without success, and he also has loan breaks in Göztepe and KV Ostend on his CV. Unfortunately, neither place was doing very well.
Worst, however, has been Bubacarr Sanneh in Anderlecht, where he made just 19 appearances. In doing so, the Belgians have paid just over 403,422.38 Euros per Bubacarr’s performance.
For Bubacarr Sanneh, he needed to have his contract terminated before the transfer deadline at midnight.
The question is whether a Danish club is ready to give the former AC Horsens and FC Midtjylland Gambian star a chance.
