The police have charged Madi Jobarteh with false information and broadcasting in accordance with Section 181A (1) of the criminal code.
He has been bailed by one Gambian surety and a deposit of D50,000.
The Kairaba Police asked him to report to the station at 10am. Several lawyers and national assembly members were seen at the station while he was being detained.
In his media comment at the protest, Madi accused the government for failing to investigate and take actions on the death of Ousman Darboe, Kebba Secka and Haruna Jatta. The police and the military have been accused of killing them.
